Menopause Case Study 1

Before Treatment

A 49-year-old female with slight obesity had been experiencing irregular periods for about a year. Sometimes, she would menstruate twice a month or every other month. She also experienced seizures and abnormal perspiration for about three months. The seizures began to repeat many times throughout the day and she would experience palpitations due to dizziness. Her face became red and her feet felt as cold as ice. Her abdomen had a thick abdominal wall with subcutaneous fat but felt soft throughout pulsation. In Chinese medicine, a soft, weak belly is a sign of a blood-deficient stomach.

After Treatment

Two weeks after treatment the unpleasant bouts had subsided. Menopause can occur in women who suffer from such strong paroxysmal bouts due to autonomic imbalance and subsequent abnormal perspiration. Acupuncture treatment and herbal teas are very effective for these types of concerns.

Menopause Case Study 2

Before Treatment

A 52-year-old female had experienced irregular periods for two years. Eight months prior to her visit, her period had prolonged until she received medication from a gynecology clinic. The following month, when the next period started, her period could not end on its own. She came to our clinic hoping to find a cure with acupuncture treatment. By the time of her visit, her menstrual bleeding had been ongoing for 14 days. Initial examination found that her legs were cold and her abdomen was soft.

After Treatment

After the treatment, her menstrual bleeding stopped next day. We provided her with treatment to nourish the body, stop bleeding, and supplement the lack of blood flow. The treatment also improved the gloss of the skin.

Menopause Case Study 3

Before Treatment

A 47-year-old female had been consulting with her husband about her eldest son's advancement, but her husband seemed apathetic. She told us she was feeling frustrated and especially annoyed by her husband's indifference to her family. She would often feel as if she would explode in anger or have rage during her menstruation. She was very nervous at her first examination, which found her abdomen and abdominal wall to be very tense.

After Treatment

Three weeks after treatment, her emotions subsided and became mild. Her relationship with her husband improved and she no longer dealt with frustration.
